My current favorite games: Crayon Physics, Bloxorz

Independent game designer Petri Purho recently won the $25k grand prize at the 10th Annual Independent Games Festival for this hypnotic, soothing puzzle game. The goal is to collect the stars by moving your ball through a crayon-drawn 2D puzzle. How do you accomplish this? By using your own crayon (your cursor) to draw circles, squares and other shapes that interact physically with the puzzle. Need to move your ball across a gap? Just draw a bridge. Need to move your ball over an obstacle? Just draw a ramp. A full version will be coming out soon (watch this demo video: AWESOME) which will allow much more interaction, creativity and inventiveness.

Download an early demo of Crayon Physics for free at Great Games Experiment or Experimental Gameplay Project. Sorry, these demos are only for Windows. :(

In this puzzle game, you flip, flop and roll your rectangular block until it drops through the hole. Sounds simple, right? Not when you're on freakin' level 27 and there are switches, transporters and other obstacles preventing you from maneuvering your block into a winning position. Turn on some brain tunes and clunk away.
